A couple of weekends ago we took the kids on their first ever camping trip! We had heard that the White Mountains in New Hampshire were a great spot to camp so that is where we headed! We stayed at the Huttopia White Mountains campgrounds. They offer a resort style glamping experience complete with your own bathroom and hot shower right inside of your tent! We thought this was right up our alley because we had no idea how to camp with kids!
When we arrived we were so excited to see that the grounds had a heated outdoor pool, an Airstream that served food and drinks, a playground for the kids, and a private beach! We parked our car and used their big green wagons to tote all of our belongings to our tent. We stayed in the Trapper tent which was located right on a beautiful brook. They had all of the amenities we could ask for! A small kitchen with a refrigerator and tables with chairs both inside and outside the tent. This made it easier for us to prepare meals for the kids! The beds were also extremely comfy!
We visited the private beach and the kids got to play in the water while we relaxed in the sun. They have an area to rent canoes and paddle boards with an included life jacket for each member of your party! When we took the canoe out, we were blown away by the views that surrounded us! We truly got to experience the beauty of the New Hampshire mountains!
At night, we sat by the campfire and roasted marshmallows. Each tent had its own personal fire pit! We also picked up a yummy pizza from the Airstream on the campgrounds. There were plenty of other families staying in the lodgings next to us but we still got that quiet, peaceful experience that you would expect from a camping trip.
The kiddos were so sad to leave our mini glamping vacay! It was so nice to see them digging and exploring outdoors! We’ve been indoors so much because of the pandemic we needed a weekend to connect with nature and get some fresh air. The Huttopia resort is currently open to all New Hampshire residents and will hopefully be opening up to others soon too! We will definitely be returning next year! We want to go in the summer because they have tons of great kid-friendly activities during that time!
