Hi beauties! I wanted to take some time to fill you in on some of my favorite things to do to my hair! I get a lot of questions about if I dye my hair and how I cut it so I wanted to share everything with you all!
Dye
One question I get asked the most is if my hair is naturally THAT dark! Although I’ve had dark black hair since I was younger, I still dye my hair to keep it looking fresh. I go with blue black which is a shade darker than my natural hair. I love the shine I get from it and I think it looks gorgeous on so many people! I only dye it about once every 6 months!
Cut
For my haircut I always stick with long layers. Even if I chop my hair short (which I’ve done a few times!), I still love keeping the layers long. My new stylist started framing my face with short layers lately (so only in the front part of my hair) and it’s so lovely! So I’ve been obsessing over that! But I never go for a drastic cut unless I’m changing the length. I usually just get a small trim every 8 weeks.
Bangs
I also have bangs! The type of bangs I get are called “curtain bangs”. I get them like this so that I can wear them as a side bang, front bang, or even middle bang…however I’m feeling that day! I like bangs because I feel like I have a bigger forehead so it kind of levels things out on my face!
Do I wear extensions?
This is something I get asked a lot! I have worn extensions as part of Halloween costumes just for fun but I don’t wear extensions regularly! I’m lucky if I brush my hair each day! Also, because my hair is pretty thick I have a hard time wearing extensions because it gives me way too much volume.
Products
I absolutely love this shampoo and conditioner. I also use them on Lily! It makes our hair so soft and smells so good. Lily needs moisture in her hair because she has such curly hair and these work great for her. I have wavy, oily hair and have a hard time finding products that clean my hair well…but this stuff works for me too!
I had to share my dry shampoo also because I wear it daily! It gives my hair volume and it allows me to go a few days without washing my hair! Also, if you’re a brunette, you NEED this one. I hated dry shampoo because it would leave white residue in my hair but this stuff is specifically for dark-haired girls! They also have a normal one for lighter hair colors as well!
I’ve already gone through two of these wands because I use them and love them so much! You can adjust the heat temperature so it allows you to have soft, messy waves or tighter, more uniform waves. It also has a button that twists the hair for you. Pretty handy!
This is my FAVE straightener. I have really thick hair and it’s super long…which can make it hard to manage. On days when I just want to tame my lion’s mane, this straightener does the trick for me!
