We found out the gender of our first baby, Lily, at our 18 week ultrasound appointment. It was the traditional gender reveal 🙂 My husband and I sat there staring at the screen and anxiously staring at each other until the tech yelled, “It’s a girl!” We were so excited!
With our second pregnancy we assumed that we would find things out the same way…we were wrong!
When I was 11 weeks pregnant I had to go in for my first ultrasound. At my doctor’s office they do a genetic screening on your baby even if you aren’t having a high risk pregnancy. So they took my blood and sent me home. About four days later they called me on the phone to give me my results. The nurse told me that the baby was heathy and just as I was about to hang up she said, “Wait! Don’t you want to know the baby’s gender?” I had no idea they were going to tell me on the phone! She told me it was a boy and I couldn’t believe it!
I felt bad that I got to find out without my husband so I planned a cute and simple gender reveal for him. I went and picked up some blue balloons and left them by the door so he could see them as soon as he got home from work. I love this video so much because of how happy we both were! Seth was happy because he was having a son and I was happy because he had brought home Taco Bell 🙂
