Our Story

Hi everyone! I thought I would use my first blog post to introduce myself and my family because so many of my posts will be about our life. My name is Amber Chavez and I am a wife, mom, and graduate student (I study British and Irish literature). I am married to my high school sweetheart who I started dating at 14! (Side note: neither of our kids will be dating when they are 14 lol)

We dated all through high school but by our sophomore year in college we realized we needed some time to grow on our own, plus we were both going to colleges that were a far distance apart. We stayed split up for about three years but never could stay away from each other, we constantly stayed in contact. During our break my husband became a police officer and I continued to finish college. After some time to mature, we finally decided to get back together and within a month we were engaged. We picked up right where we had left off and it was like we had never split. We decided weeks after our engagement to start trying for a baby because we knew for sure that we were meant to be with each other (as cheesy as that sounds!). That same year we got married and the year after that we had our beautiful little Lily Catalina.

Lily will be three years old on April 1st, so in September of last year we started trying for our second baby. Now we are expecting a beautiful baby boy in July!
