Last weekend we celebrated our four year wedding anniversary by hanging out on a few of our favorite California beaches! The California Coast has held so many sweet memories for our little family, even before we became a family.
My husband and I started dating when we were 14 years old and our first trip together was to Catalina Island in California (with parental supervision of course!). We would later name our first born baby after this gorgeous island, Lily Catalina. I felt like this trip was so significant for us because this was when we started to develop a true love for traveling together.
Fast forward nine years…we were 23 years old and Seth asked me to be his wife! We knew we wanted a simple destination wedding so we could start our family right away. With this in mind, we decided to plan a wedding and a baby at the same time. That year was insanely busy!! I got pregnant and planned a wedding on a beautiful beach in Oceanside, California. At our ceremony I was three months pregnant with Lily! Although that probably is not the traditional wedding that most people expect, it was so special to us to have shared our wedding day with our baby.
The year after our wedding, our baby girl was born and we could not wait to take her traveling. As soon as she turned three months old we took her to California. We wanted her to be on the beach, see the ocean, and hangout where we had gotten married. It was such a cool experience to be back there with her!
This year it just so happened that our four year wedding anniversary fell close to the date that our second baby (Luke) would turn three months old, so of course we had to take him to Cali. We spent most of our time on Newport Beach and had a blast being back four years later with our two kids.
The Cali Coast unexpectedly became such a special place for us!
Beautiful!! I live in Northern California and we always go to San Francisco to the beach. It’s beautiful but a little chilly sometimes. I need a hot beach with warm water lol I love your blog.
